85 Students from 5 Universities Attend 2-day Workshop

On September 11th and 12th, Canada Wood Korea in collaboration with five universities in Busan conducted a two-day workshop at Pukyong National University located in downtown Busan to introduce eighty-five architecture and design students wood as a building material and benefits of using wood, latest development in tall wood-mass timber buildings, basics of wood frame construction and building playhouses for practical training.

The two-day class, delivered by Tai Jeong and Tae Hwang, was a part of seven day long university-based training program under the name of Canada-Korea Wood Festival combining the classroom lectures with five days of practical training building eight playhouses which will be donated to local child care facilities.

Five universities and eighty-five students represent the largest numbers of schools and students for any extended training program conducted by CWK so far.  The participating universities are Dong-a University, Silla University, Dongseo University, Pukyong National University and Dong-Eui University, all located in Busan Metropolitan City, the second largest city in Korea.

Also an MOU was signed on the second day between CWK and Dong-Eui University participating in the program for the first time, for the Industry-Academic cooperation.
