CWK in collaboration with USG Boral Plasterboard Korea has successfully completed renewal of accreditation of fire resistant construction of 4 wall and 1 floor/ceiling load bearing assemblies, and performance testing of 2 wood framed party wall assemblies for accreditation of sound insulation construction, with assistance from industry partners, Korea Wood Construction Association and its members and Hankuk Haniso.

Certificates of Accreditation of 1 Hour Fire Resistant Construction for the 5 wood frame assemblies have been issued as of August 5, 2014 with 3 year validity by KICT. And certificates for sound insulation construction for 2 party walls will be issued during September having performance testing successfully

completed at KICT’s acoustic testing lab in July and testing reports issued in August. Korean Building Regulations and Guides such as Standard for Evacuation and Fireproof Construction of Buildings allows 1 hour fire resistance rating for up to 4 storey or 20 meter building height, and accreditation of fire resistant construction to be renewed every 3 years, and sound insulation construction, every 5 years except for the first accreditation with 3 year validity.
