The KWCA-WUC Architect-Inspector Training Program is a new training program designed by the Canada Wood Korea (CWK) in collaboration with the Korea Wood Construction Association (KWCA) and the Wood University Center (WUC) to provide an in-depth training opportunity on design and inspection of multi-story, multi-family wood frame construction. The 11th KWCA-WUC Architect-Inspector Training program was held from April 13 to August 17, 2013 and CWK has successfully trained 22 professionals through this training.

Lack of WFC knowledgeable architects, inspectors, structural engineers, builders and carpenters inhibits expansion of WFC and penetration into large scale building segment . CWK is assisting the emerging industry in Korea to address skills and experience deficiencies by coordinating training and bringing in top-notch trainers in collaboration with key associations. And the alumni of this training program, for instance Mr. Hyun Wook Lee who is the inventor of “Peanut Home” and leading “Peanut Home” fever in residential housing market, are leading the wood projects and wood construction industry in Korea.
