Mr. Tai Jeong, Country Director of Canada Wood Korea, participated in the certificate plate hanging ceremony held in Paygyo, Gyeonggi-do on January 20 in celebration of the completion of the 100th 5-Star building of the Korea Wood Construction Association.
The plate hanging ceremony started with welcoming address by Mr. K.W. Jang, Chairman of KWCA and congratulatory remarks by Mr. Tai Jeong followed by introduction of distinguished guests and overview of the design and construction works.
29 guests including the architect who designed the 100th 5-Star building, president of the construction company, and building owner participated in the ceremony to deliver KWCA’s 5-Star Certificate and congratulated the completion of the building while watching the “5-Star” signboard hung on the outside of the building.
CWK signed an MOU with KWCA in May 2009 and has provided technical support for KWCA’s 5-Star Quality Certification Program, which was developed to enhance the quality of wood frame single family houses in Korea by transferring proper construction methods
and technologies through on-the-spot inspections in all processes starting from architectural and structural plan checks.
Previously, Mr. Jeong of CWK in collaboration with the 5-Star Quality Certification Team of KWCA conducted the first on-the-spot inspection of this 100th 5-Star building in August 2015 and reviewed its structural safety and framing quality and provided its 2nd and 3rd mandatory progressive inspections until issuing the certificate.
KWCA is currently working on the 122nd 5-Star building. Go, go 5-Star!!!
