Certification of Super-E® House of the First CLT House in Korea – Celebrated by Plaque Unveiling Ceremony
Another Super-E® Certification plaque unveiling ceremony was held for the CLT House located at Suji-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, on May 24, 2018, in conjunction with the Jeff Culp’s visit to Korea. Mr. Culp is the General Manager of the Super-E® Office and the Executive Director of the Energy Efficient Exporters Association (EEEA) who are overseeing Super-E® Program overseas.
The owner of the house, emeritus professor of the Seoul National University, Jun Jae Lee, has dedicated over 30 years in teaching wood engineering at the university and has been actively promoting the use of wood in many organizations such as the Wood Culture Forum and the Korea Society of Wood Science and Technology.
The CLT House, completed in and certified in 2015 by Stuga Wood Construction, is the second Super-E® certified house in Korea and has played a crucial role in rejuvenating the Super-E® Program in Korea and establishing the Korea Wood Construction Association as the service provider of the Korea Super-E® Program.
The first Super-E® certified house in Korea was completed in 2008 and the 3rd and 4th Super-E® houses were completed at Gapyeong Canada Village at the end of 2017. Other projects are in the pipeline and also a couple of demonstration projects are under review.
