China Vocational Schools’ Mission to B.C.
Nine instructors from seven Chinese vocational schools and 4 officials from MOHURD visited Canada from Aug. 12th to 19th. This mission is a part of the vocational training program under NRCan/BC-MOHURD Cooperative Modern Wood Frame Construction Technology Project. Purpose of this delegation is to educate Chinese vocational schools of Canadian carpenter’s training and certification program and advanced WFC technologies, so that to push forward Chinese schools to establish
WFC courses in order to solve emerging bottleneck of qualified WFC builders in the market. It was a productive mission. Chinese instructors showed great interests in delivering WFC courses in their schools and even exchange with Canadian colleges if possible. CW will help to deliver 1:1 training to those vocational schools in the following months. Then the schools will be able to conduct WFC courses by themselves in this fall or next spring semester.
