KLIC Celebrates 50th Anniversary
The Korea Lumber Industry Cooperative (KLIC) celebrated the 50th anniversary of its foundation. On February 14, KLIC held the 50th regular general meeting and a commemorative event for the 50th anniversary of their foundation at the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (KFSMB) in Yeouido, Seoul.
KLIC has operated the cooperative with the goal of promoting wholesome growth of the domestic lumber industry and welfare among its members. In particular, KLIC has made efforts to establish order in circulating lumber products, took initiatives to promote demand for lumber products through various meetings and seminars, and made great efforts to supply lumber products primarily to public projects driven by the government through the designation of competitive products between small and medium enterprisers.
In celebrating the 50th anniversary of its foundation, KLIC delivered a plaque of appreciation to excellent managers and exemplary employees who have contributed to the advancement of small and medium enterprises and the establishment of the foundation of the lumber industry last year followed by greetings from Chairman Byung-jin Kim, congratulatory address from KFSMB Chairman Sung-taek Park, congratulatory speeches from former directors, and finally the viewing of a commemorative video looking back on the 50 years of history since its foundation in 1967. After the event, over ninety people including members of KLIC, lumber industry officials, and officials of related organizations who participated in the ceremony enjoyed a luncheon together.
Tai Jeong, Country Director of Canada Wood Korea also joined the event and congratulated the 50th anniversary of foundation.
