A new large platform frame elderly care facility – the third largest of its kind – opens its doors. And the name of this particular project might ring a bell with a few of our readers, as you were probably on hand when BC Minister Steve Thomson lead an industry delegation to view the site while it was under construction last October. Indeed, it is hard to believe that six months have since passed and once again we are back at the site, but now COFI’s staff in Japan are

helping the owner, staff and construction industry personal who designed and constructed this wonderful building to christen the project and celebrate its opening. The nursing home is comprised of 90 units for full time senior residents and another 10 units for short stay occupants. The total floor area for the building is 4,700 m² and approximately 940 m³ of SPF dimension lumber was used in its construction.
