A new nursing home under construction inFuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, will soon open in the middle of October this year. Nursing Home Kazuenosha is a two-storey2x4 fireproof structure located near the base of Japan’s sacred Mount Fuji, which recently was designated a world heritage site. The nursing home has 29 units for full time senior residents and another 10 units for short stay occupants. The total floor area of the building is 2,965 m² consuming about 500 m³ of SPF dimension lumber in its construction. The facility will be owned and managed by Miyoshikai Social Welfare Corporation from Fuji City. The project was designed by Mr. Hisato Yoshitaka of Yoshitaka Architects Engineers & Consultants and the general contractor for the project was Hazama Ando Corporation.
