Participation in 2015 Korea Architecture Fair & Festival
Canada Wood Korea has participated in the 2015 Korea Architecture Fair & Festival (KAFF) from October 20 to 23, 2015 at COEX in Seoul. KAFF, the annual event organized by the Korea’s largest architects’ organization, Korea Institute of Registered Architects (KIRA), is the meeting place for its architect members and construction industry.
CWK has been participating in this fair over the past several years to distribute technical and promotional literature and to conduct seminars and workshops as KIRA recognized mandatory continuing education sessions for promotion of the use of Canadian wood products and wood frame construction to design and construction professionals.
For this year’s seminar titled as “4 Architects and 4 Colors of Wood Frame Construction and Talk Show”, 4 leading architects, Seung Hee Kang of Nova Studio, Dong Hee Kim of KDDH, Hyeon Wook Lee of Kwanjang and Nam Ho Cho of Soltozibin, were invited to share their experiences in wood design with their fellow architects and builders. Followed by the presentations, Tai Jeong, CWK Country Director conducted a talk show with in depth questions and discussions.
In addition to this seminar and talk show, CWK held series of Combined Architectural and Structural workshops to educate KIRA architects with architectural and structural design technologies for wood frame construction through in-depth technical lectures by Gak Gyeong Kim, PE and President of Duhang Structural Consulting and Jae Seung Song, Principal of Michoo Architects.
