Successful CWK programs attract future home buyers in Yeongnam and Busan Area
Canada Wood Korea participated in the 2013 Busan Kyunghyang Housing Fair held at BEXCO, Busan from September 26 to 29 to promote the use of Canadian wood products and wood frame construction to general public, architects and builders in Yeongnam and Busan Area. CWK provided various concurrent events during the fair including a WFC seminar for consumers by inviting three renowned architects as guest speakers, a WFC design detail workshop in collaboration with Busan Institute of Registered Architects and Korea Institute of Architects Busan Branch for their member architects, a University-Based training jointly with Pukyong National University and Pusan National University and a RTD with local architects and university professors.
The recent NRCan’s survey of Stakeholders of the Canada Wood Export Program (CWEP) and North American Wood First Initiative (NAWF) showed 57% of survey respondents receive information on wood through tradeshows and there is a need to maintain a continual presence at major trade shows in order to keep contact with existing and new target audiences in the builder, developer, specifier (designers/architects) and industrial markets.
The Busan Kyunghyang Housing Fair is essential to providing first time exposure to wood to many professionals and consumers in Busan area, the second biggest city in Korea.
Canada Wood participation in the fair continued to influence architects/interior designers in specifying wood as environment-friendly construction material for their building projects and draw keen interest in choosing wood framed homes from local consumers.
Thousands of Canada Wood’s literature were distributed to the fair visitors and the registered visitors at Canada Wood booth have been built up as part of the Canada Wood distribution list so that they can regularly receive information on Canadian wood products, technology and updates on Canada Wood activities.
