Talk Concert Wishing for Successful 2018 World Conference on Timber Engineering
The D-100 Talk Concert wishing for successful 2018 World Conference on Timber Engineering was held in COEX, Seoul on May 9th.
The talk concert was a preparation for the successful hosting of the World Conference on Timber Engineering which marks its 30th anniversary this year, and the participants listened to the opinions from various circles and discussed the development plan, reported on current progress, and also held a press conference with the journalists invited.
“The conference will be a great opportunity to raise the level of timber engineering in Korea and connect academic values to the living and the industry,” said Chang-jae Lee, President of National Institute of Forest Science, “This year’s conference introduces a program designed to encourage and support the future generation by giving the ‘Young Scientist Award’ to promising young scientists, and the most expected part of the conference is the keynote speeches of the world’s topnotch wood frame construction experts of Japan, England, Canada, New Zealand, and Korea.”
The World Conference on Timber Engineering, the world’s largest conference that started in Seattle, America in 1988 to share the latest technological trends, research outcomes, and design innovations in timber engineering, will be held in Seoul from August 20 to 23, 2018 with over 1,200 guests from 61 countries.
Canada Wood Korea will also open a booth to introduce Midply Shear Wall system along with CLT, NLT in response to the intensification of the seismic building code and trends on Tall Wood Mass Timber.
