Tokachi 2×4 Association 40th Anniversary Tour Mission
To commemorate its 40th anniversary and further strengthen our ties with the Tokachi 2×4 Home Builders Association (twenty-three-member companies) COFI and the Alberta Government cohosted a tour mission with eleven delegates from this association to Canada from February 12th to 18th. Members on the mission included Mr. Akasaka, chairman and Mr. Nakata, secretariat of the association. While in Canada, the delegation inspected a SPF lumber mill and OSB plant in High Level, Alberta and learned how these and other wood products are used to constructing Net-Zero Energy and Passive Homes and Buildings in Canada. Architects, contractors, and building industry experts based in Edmonton and Vancouver were very
generous with their time, meeting with the delegation, and providing firsthand knowledge of Canada’s current and forthcoming building codes and practices. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved and kindly helped with this year’s mission happen! Too many to mention here, but to all of you all a big “Thank You”!!
