2018 University Wood Construction Training is a Success
Canada Wood Korea in collaboration with Department of Architecture of Inha University has successfully completed the first of two university-based training planned in FY 2018-19 under the name of “The GIFTs : 5”. (5 meaning in its 5th year or 5th project). Inha University’s GIFTs project itself is a spin-off of University-based training provided by CWK.
The training was delivered over the period of three months starting from design consultation with graduate students in May 201. The training was concluded with ceremonies for presentation of certificates of professional development for full time participants and plaque of appreciation from the Mayor of Anyang city to CWK and Inha University in early September.
The GIFTs project is a unique annual event which combines wood frame construction training of both undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Architecture with guidance from their teaching professor. They select a site and design a small outdoor structure for child care facilities or neighborhoods to improve their living conditions using Canadian dimension lumber.
