Beichuan Elderly Care Facility in Sichuan China built in 2011 was one of several building donated by Canada to China following the Sichuan Earthquake in 2008.

The Elderly Care Innovation Forum, which organized by China Real Estate Managers Association, was held in Yinchuan, Ningxia province from April 19-20. There were over 300 officials, professors, developers, service providers and planners attended the meeting. All of the speakers believed that the elderly care market has a big potential in China, which will need the investors, developers, operators, and service providers to work together. Elderly care market is not a real estate market which will need to provide not only a house, but also good services. Leonard Mao attended the meeting and met many developers. Elderly care market is a big market of wood frame construction, which is healthy and green building system and suitable for the elderly to live.
