Grand Opening Ceremony for Super-E® and Net-Zero Demonstration Houses
The collaboration of the Super-E® Office/EEEA and GICO-DSK, the developer and builder of Canada Village in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, has culminated in the opening ceremony of 2 houses certified as the Super-E® House and Net-Zero House held on December 14, 2017 at the Gapyeong Canada Village site.
The two houses represent the 3rd and 4th Super-E® Certified Houses in Korea and 11 more houses will be built at the same block targeting Super-E® House or Net-Zero House certification by the Super-E® Office next year in 2018.
GICO-DSK has signed an MOU with the EEEA in July 2017 for technical supports for the construction of 13 houses to Super-E®, Net-Zero Houses, and EEEA’s consultants (Jack Zhou and Ken Klassen) have visited Korea 3 times during the critical stages of the construction to verify compliance and to provide technical support and Quality Assurance. And the demonstration project has led to the initiative for development of Super-E®, Net-Zero Standards by the EEEA and update of the Korea Super-E® Standards by the Korea Wood Construction Association with the support from Canada Wood.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Eric Walsh, the Canadian Ambassador to Korea, Yong Hak Kim, President of GICO and other distinguished guests.
