Seoul Hosts the 2018 World Conference on Timber Engineering (2018 WCTE)
More than six hundred scholars, engineers, students and industry representatives from all over the world have gathered in Seoul for the participation in the 2018 World Conference on Timber Engineering. The main events of the conference took place from August 20 to August 23, 2018 and technical excursions to explore the traditional and modern timber buildings and industry in Korea were held August 25.
WCTE is the one of the most important international forums for discussing and sharing the latest technical and architectural developments and innovations in wood engineering, wood structures and construction. The host, Korea Forest Service hoped to boost the interests in wood structures as can be seen form the slogan for the event “Again, the Golden Era of Timber”.
From Canada, Mohammad Mohammad, Senior Research Advisor at CFS, NRCan, Robert Malxczyk, Principal of Equilibrium Consulting, Marjan Popovski, Principal Scientist and Christian Dagenais, Senior Scientist, FPInnovations, to name a few, presented at the conference.
