Kyowa Corporation, a construction company based in Aichi prefecture, is building a new 2×4 housing subdivision and as luck would have it, there are lots for exactly twenty-four homes on the site. The housing development is appropriately named Maple Village as the homes going up there celebrate Canadian lifestyle design. The developer for the project thought calling the project Maple Village would be a good way to market these new homes to potential home buyers as they are being built in Kasugai city in Achi prefecture

which as it turns out has a sister city relationship with Kelowna, British Columbia since 1981 and hence the Canadian connection. It turns out there hunch was right, as half of the lots have already been sold and about 10 homes have already been constructed on site. All the homes at Maple Village are 2-storey and depending on the lot size the size of these 2×4 homes range from in size from 120 to 130 m². The city of Kasugai has a population of about 300,000 and lies northeast of the Nagoya metropolitan, making it a perfect place to raise a family and easily commute to Nagoya.
