CWK Developer mission develop Korean wood building ambassadors
CWK held its annual Korean Developer mission with 20 delegates comprising two big builders, nine independent developers, four architects and five distributors over a nine day period in Canada from October 2 to 10, 2013.
This year, Canada Wood provided an extended visit opportunity to Penticton and Kelowna to the delegation by visiting the Gorman Bros. sawmill, Structurlam’s CLT plant and unique buildings sites that use various wood product including the UBC Okanagan, Jim Pattison’s Centre of Excellence, the Hooded Merganser Restaurant, Apple Valley Elderly Care, etc. The group also visited several wood frame development sites, sports complex, elementary school, an R-2000 home, and research facility in Vancouver and experienced a forestry tour including an active logging site.
This well packed 9-day program exposed a full spectrum of wood, wood construction and sustainable Canadian forest management practices and advanced construction technology.
CWK’s developer mission program is essential to inspire and motivate interested-in but new-to-wood Korean developers, builders and architects to make the switch to wood. Korean Developer mission programs offer a great return on investment insomuch as key stakeholders return from Canada as wood building ambassadors.
