CWK’s University-Based Training begins to bear a fruit
The wood frame construction practical workshop as a part of CWK’s University & College-Based training is currently underway from June 18 to 22, 2012 at Kyung Hee University. It has been 4 years since CWK worked collaboratively with the Architecture Department of KHU to put together a program that provides WFC theory lectures and practical training to students and professors. This year KHU has decided CWK’s WFC workshop to be an official academic course. Having completed the workshop the students will be awarded 3 academic credits. KHU becomes the first university who will give 3 academic credits for Canada Wood’s University & College-Based training.
Upon its completion, students are expected to understand how to use and design with wood. The students designed Korea Green Building Council (KGBC)’s Seoul office with Canadian dimension lumber to promote wood as a green building material. During the workshop KGBC delivered a special lecture on Green building at KHU and presented special gifts to four design teams selected as the first and second prizes: free tickets to participate in the World Green Building Conference in Germany and LEED GA training workshop.
