Dan Danagher, Canada’s Assistant Deputy Minister of Global Affairs, visited Canada Village in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do as part of his tour of new sustainable buildings built with wood in Korea. Kwang Hoon Lee, CEO of Dreamsite Korea, briefed Mr. Danagher on the joint venture partnership project between the crown corporation of Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation (GICO). He also toured Maple Hall community center and the Super-E® Net-Zero Energy House.

Canada Village is a multi-year phased project that showcases the collaboration of Canada and Korea in expanding the use of Canadian wood products, and the transfer of advanced technologies in energy-efficient and healthy housing solutions using Super-E and Super-E® Net-Zero.

Canada Village and the Maple Hall community centre were named to recognize Canada’s ongoing support for the project, as well as Canada’s leadership in green building.

Canada Village is located near Bukhan-gang River, a tributary of the Han River
