The Korea Architecture Fair and Festival (KAFF) is an annual event organized by Korea’s largest architectural organization, the Korea Institute of Registered Architects (KIRA). Counting more than 10,000 registered architects from all over as members, KIRA has been a leader in the development of Korea’s architectural and construction industries for the past 15 years.

KAFF 2020 was held as planned between November 18-21 at the COEX Exhibition Center in Seoul, Korea. This event was open to registered architects and construction industry professionals. CWK hosted two booths (3m x 6 m) for the show, which displayed information panels, wood product samples and a Midply Shearwall mockup alongside a variety of CWK’s literature. CWK staff stayed in the booth to provide technical information on wood products and wood frame construction technology and distributed plenty of general, technical and promotional literature related to wood frame construction to professionals, students and consumers alike.

Due to “mass gathering” event restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, CWK conducted concurrent programming through a live online platform. Additionally, the second Wood Wall Bracing Calculator Training Course For architects, structural engineers and WFC professionals, in collaboration with Chungnam National University, was successfully conducted on Nov 20.

More than 160 architects, engineers and builders the training course. As users needed to both run and view an Excel Program based on prescriptive structural code for “Small Scaled Building Code-Timber Structure” simultaneously, the online platform for this workshop turned out to be the perfect tool for the program.
