The rapid development of Korea’s wood construction market has created a wealth of opportunities as well as challenges, like a skills gap for the industry in search of a trained, educated and diverse workforce. Canada Wood Korea’s annual University-based Training program is geared to suit the growing need for skilled builders and designers in this fast-growing segment.

30 students majoring in Interior Material Science and Architecture at Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology (GNTECH) attended a week-long training in December 2019. The training program is designed to integrate theory and hands-on practice. Two playhouses were built as a result of the program and were donated to local communities for charity purposes.

Our University-based training program through the years has been aligned with the industry need and over 100 students received training annually.
