Cross-laminated Timber

CLT

Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is a large-scale, prefabricated, solid engineered wood panel. This mass-timber product consists of an odd number of several layers of kiln-dried lumber boards that are stacked in alternating directions, bonded with structural adhesives, and then pressed to form a solid, straight, rectangular panel.

Because of CLT’s structural properties and dimensional stability, it is well suited to floors, walls and roofs used in mid-rise and tall wood construction. The interior wall and floor panels can be left exposed, which provides additional aesthetic attributes. CLT panels are used as prefabricated building components in order to speed up construction practices, or allow for off-site construction.
