Celebrating Canadian Wood with Japanese Pro Dealers!
Canada Wood Japan recently partnered with Shinohara Shoten Co., Ltd. and pro-dealer Ken Depot Co., Ltd to host a lunch and learn event about Canada and our forest products. The event was help in honour of key lumber buyers to help them develop a better appreciation for Canadian wood species such as Coastal B.C. Hemlock and as well learn about sustainable forest management. The theme was a family fun day type event, with Ken Depot inviting their best lumber customers. The event featured a Canada Quiz, where yours truly did his best Alex Trebek impersonation, a wood species identification challenge and the crowd favorite a competitive game of Jenga made from cut pieces of Coastal Hemlock Taruki (rafters). A total of over 60 participants attended and according to feedback received from our partners Shinohara Shoten and Ken Depot, the event drew rave reviews and helped positively grow our fanbase for Canadian lumber products.
