Wooden Hotels 101
COFI’s market development team partnered with HOTERES magazine, which services the hotel and restaurant industry in Japan, to sponsor and participate in a series of hotel management seminars. With these seminars, we introduced the benefits for building low to mid-rise hotels and resorts using platform frame construction to industry-related personnel in attendance. The five hotel management seminars, despite COIVD-19 concerns, were well attended with over 150 persons in total participating at the Naha, Nagoya, Kanazawa, Sapporo and Sendai venues. COFI’s speaker for these seminars was Mr. Nobuhiro Ichikawa, Lead Architect at Liv Corporation, who designed and managed the construction of a 5-storey 2×4 hotel that opened last year called “Discover Hotel Kyoto Nagaokakyo” as written up in previous Canada Wood blog article below. http://canadawood.org/discover-hotel-kyoto-nagaokakyo/
