Canada Wood Korea on Show at Busan Korea Build Fair
Canada Wood Korea demonstrated a broad array of Canadian wood products and building systems at the 2021 Busan Korea Build Fair, one of the preeminent building and housing product exhibitions in South Korea targeted at building professionals. Our booth display focused on wood infill wall, MIDPLYTM shearwall and Nail Laminated Timber (NLT) systems.
During the show, a wood wall bracing course was delivered in webinar format to over 120 participants. The training comprised wall bracing theory, strategies and techniques to address challenges when designing the multilayered wood walls and the use of the wood wall bracing calculator for small-scale wood structures. We also went over the structural design guide for mass timber, NLT and MIDPLYTM shearwall systems.
The material was jointly presented by David Joo- President of HausTEC Engineering Canada, Gak Gyung Kim of Duhang Structural Consultants Co., Ltd. Korea, Changmin Ryu of Needhouse construction and Joseph Park- Ph.D.-Director of Case R&D.
